Bril Brothers

The leader of this family band is the great pianist Igor Bril, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor of the Gnessin Russian Music Academy, and the author of the most popular jazz manual in Russian "Practical Course in Jazz Improvisation," which has seen eight print runs since it was first released in 1979.

His partners in the project, saxophonists Alexander and Dmitry Bril, are among the most popular jazz musicians in Russia. They began touring in Russia and abroad in just their second year at Gnessin. That was also when the Bril brothers formed their first band with Yakov Okun, Eduard Zizak and Igor Ivanushkin. The brothers released several critically acclaimed albums, Immersion (2000), Song For… (2006), Together (CD/DVD, 2007) and Connection (2009).
